I've decided to return my portfolio visibility to display my works in ArtStation. In light of the AI protest, nothing has changed, I still stand against ArtStation on their stance on AI artwork. However, new copyright laws regarding AI will be introduced by the FTC in 2023. AI companies that utilize their database on copyrighted material could face significant fines or civil action, and companies will have to regulate and change accordingly. ArtStation has broken its own terms and agreements allowing Scrappers to steal artwork and feed it into their databases. This means that ArtStation/Epic will have to take action themselves or face yet another lawsuit as they were just recently sued for $520mil, so for them to face civil action again is not out of the picture.
I am on thin ice with ArtStation and their ignorance of their own community has been disgusting, to say the least. However it seems that the protest is having some effect and they may change the platform for the better. If not, then I will likely migrate elsewhere as with most artist.
